$1.2 Million Raised. 500 Guests. One Night at The Plaza.
The Horological Society of New York marked its 160th anniversary with a black-tie gala that was more than just a celebration. It was a statement of intent.
Held at The Plaza Hotel, the event gathered over 500 industry figures, from independent watchmakers to major brands and auction houses. The goal? To raise funds for advancing horology. And they did just that, awarding $450,000 in financial aid and raising $1.2 million to support the Society's mission.
Sotheby's led a live charity auction featuring standout pieces like a signed F.P. Journe Octa Réserve De Marche Wall Clock, which fetched $200,000, and a unique C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Wristwatch that went for $130,000. Even HSNY's 2026 Lifetime Membership Card became a hot item, selling for $42,000.
Notable attendees included Roger Smith OBE, Kevin O'Leary, and Romain Gauthier, who co-chaired the event. The evening also honored François-Paul Journe with the Howard Fass Award for Lifetime Achievement, recognizing his significant contributions to watchmaking.
A night at The Plaza with purpose—and results to match.
