Moritz Grossmann HAMATIC Silver-Plated by Friction

200 Years. 18 Pieces. No Roman Numerals.

Moritz Grossmann is marking its founder's bicentennial with a watch that nods to history without being stuck in it.

The HAMATIC Silver-Plated by Friction is the first release for Moritz Grossmann's 200th birthday. Limited to 18 pieces, it features an "1826" engraving on the balance cock and a vintage "M. GROSSMANN" logo on the dial, just like in 1875. The dial's silver-plated finish is achieved through a rare hand-brushing technique, giving it a unique texture and soft reflection.

This isn't just about looks. The case is 41mm of 18kt white gold, housing the in-house caliber 106.0 movement. It's a German hammer automatic with a three-day power reserve and regulated to five positions. The movement includes features like a Grossmann balance and hand-engraved components, all visible through the sapphire display back.

For collectors, this piece swaps traditional Roman numerals for Arabic ones—a first for the HAMATIC line. It's a subtle shift but one that modernizes the aesthetic while maintaining historical respect.

Limited to just 18 pieces, this watch will be available at select boutiques. Pricing details haven't been disclosed yet, but you can expect it to reflect its craftsmanship and exclusivity.
